The Colorado Ballon incident occured on october 15, 2009. IT was said thata six year-old boy named Falcon was beleived to be floating away in the families home-made helium balloon. The six year-old was said to be traveling at altitudes of 7,000 feet. The balloon was colored and shaped to resemble a silver flying saucer. The boy had covered more than 50 miles across three countries. Then, finally the balloon landed about 12 miles from The Denver International Airport. When the balloon landed the police went to get the boy but no boy was found. The six year old went to hide from his parents out of fear and fell asleep in that hiding place. When the parents were being interviewed on a news conference with Larry King , the boy looked at his father and said "You guys said that, um, we did this for the show." This added to speculation that the incident was a hoax engineered by the boy's father, Richard Heene. On October 18, Larimer County sheriff Jim Alderden announced his conclusion that the incident was a hoax, and that the parents would likely face several felony charges.
